Lionel invited us to the apartment his dad owns on Beach to watch the fireworks. Biking was pretty much the only way to get down there since only residents were permitted to drive into the west end and with the number of people there, buses must have been extremely crowded. This was the first time we've seen the fireworks from the downtown side of the water.
We were riding past Vanier Park so we stopped to watch the kites for a while. While we watched, this one guy started flying his three kites in formation not unlike the Snowbirds. His simultaneous control of all three kites was rather impressive. Each had three strings, and he operated one in each hand, and the third was somehow attached to his thigh.

We went over to Richard's place to watch the fireworks. The pictures aren't that clear though because I can't hold that still. It's hard to see, but in the last picture, the people on the top floor of the shortish building in the back had a big flame on their BBQ that caught the attention of the police helicopter and several fire trucks.
