Kat invited a large crowd to her mom's house in Nanaimo for the weekend. Zaven had to work late, so Kat, Brenda, and I went to pick him up from Duke Point at 1am. We hacked at the ferry terminal for a while before the ferry arrived and Brenda gave Zaven the loudest and most twirly welcome of anyone at the terminal.

Cameras and tripods oh my! |
After playing with Spatz, picking up Darko from Departure Bay, and eating pancakes for breakfast, we headed out to Little Qualicum Falls. It was here that I saw arbutus trees for the first time.
We played some hackey sack in the parking lot, then were startled by roosters running across the parking lot. We had been hearing them for some time, but did not expect them to be as free range as we were seeing. After chasing the chicken around a bit, we got hungry, so we picked up some ice cream to eat by the water in Parksville.

We dropped Brenda off at Departure Bay and picked up some groceries to make pizza for dinner. Then we went to the video store for a movie. We settled on Dusit's pick of Whalerider, and he proceeded to sleep through the movie.

Kat made some yummy cinnamon buns for breakfast, then we went out and played some minigolf.

Matt has mad guitar skillz. |
Matt played some guitar for us before we had to leave. We ended up missing the ferry again (we were just a bit too far back in line in Horseshoe Bay as well so Kat, Deb, Scott, and I played hackey sack in the waiting room). We killed another couple of hours in the ferry lineup (we replaced Scott with Zaven) hacking. The four of us finished the weekend with dinner at Wonton Noodle House. Yum yum.
Go back to some of my other pictures.
