I always used to go to Queen Elizabeth Park for tobogganing since it was a big hill in a park. However, Lavina introduced me to Kensington Park the previous night, and that is where I have gone since. This time, Katie and Calvin came too.
The night before, we observed some creativity of the frolickers. Objects being used for sliding included: turtle pools, sidewalk closed signs, a rectangular sheet of metal, and the hood of a car. Welcome to the east side!

Firaz introduced us to this card game that really screws with cognition, but we didn't stay too long to play because Deb had to get home and pack for her Hawaii trip before we went to Dusit's for a potluck and Muppets.

Dusit, Lavina, and I went to Yaohan for some Taiwan beef noodles. I didn't think it was as good that night though, so I'll have to make them go try it again.

Michael, Cyn, and I were supposed to be meeting Brenda for lunch. Kay was on her way from Toronto to Hawaii. Cleverly, she thought to go to the airport early in Toronto in light of a snowstorm there so as not to miss her connection in Vancouver. That got her here a couple of hours early, and I got an unexpected call from the airport. As it turned out, her timing was very good, as we were able to get her from the airport and spot Brenda on Cambie at 49th, so we got her too. We feasted on an Indian buffet on Fraser, and got Kay back to the airport for her connection.

My attention was drawn outside by a firetruck that had stopped. Looking over the balcony, I saw a team of firemen converge upon a pickup truck. It was apparently leaking gas, so they soaked the spill up using whatever powder stuff it is they use. Then the hazardous materials team arrived. They pumped out the remaining fuel in the gas tank and had the car towed away.

Greg was forced to rethink his annual birthday snowshoe trip on account of the lack of snow. Instead, he had a pineapple express party to celebrate the great gobs of rain being hurled at us by the jet stream.

We knew about this layover ahead of time, and the plan was to try and find some dim sum. Unfortunately, not much was open in Richmond at 8am, and we ended up at Tim Horton's looking at pictures. At least I returned her to the airport via a more scenic route.

I got home just in time to go over to Michael's for my second breakfast, this time crêpes instead of doughnuts.
