With Brenda in town and Katie about to move out of town, Katie held a revolving door visit to Nanaimo. Despite taking the bus rather than riding our bikes to Horseshoe Bay, we were too late and arrived at the Newcastle ferry dock just as Katie, Dima, Lav, and Cyrus got off the ferry. We did see a burning cab on our ride to the bus stop though.
We saw Lav and Cyrus off, and went for a bike ride, then returned to Departure Bay in time to meet up with Cynthia and Brenda off the 5:30 ferry.

We picked up an assortment of yummies for a day trip to Gabriola, where Scott caught up with us. It appears that the Malaspina Galleries have reached a state where they closed off access (well, not so much physically, but with signs), which is too bad because it's quite a pretty place to walk through. I dropped by Lewis' place, but nobody was home so I just left a note.

We caught the 9:30 ferry with Cynthia (thanks to Katie running home and driving our stuff down while we headed straight to Departure Bay). Unfortunately, buses can only carry two bikes, so I elected to ride (along with a guy we met who didn't have any lights). It turns out that even with a slow riding pace on the upper levels highway because Dave was riding blind, I arrived home before Deb had gotten into the house.
